Cody Phipps is the CEO of Integrated Water Services, Inc. He is a dynamic executive with extensive leadership experience across diverse industries, is recognized for driving innovative strategies, fostering growth, and cultivating high-performing teams and cultures.
Prior to IWS, he served as President and CEO of Osmose Utilities Services, Inc., a $700 million leading provider of electrical infrastructure services with field crews of over 4,000 technicians across the US, Canada, and Australia. During his tenure, he shaped the company’s strategic vision, policies, and objectives, ensuring operational excellence and sustained growth.
Prior to Osmose, Cody was Chairman, President, and CEO of Owens & Minor Inc., a global healthcare distribution and services company with over $10 billion in revenue and 17,500 employees, with operations in over ninety countries. As the chief architect of the company’s new enterprise strategy, he led the two largest acquisitions in the company’s history acquiring Byram Home Health in August of 2017 and Halyard, the leading manufacturer of surgical and infection prevention products in May of 2018.
From 2011 to 2015, Cody was President and CEO of Essendant (formerly United Stationers), a Fortune 500 distributor of business products with over $5 billion in annual sales. He oversaw the distribution of more than 150,000 items from over 1,000 manufacturers serving 25,000 resellers 150,000+ products from 1,000+ manufacturers, serving 25,000 resellers with technology, office, furniture, janitorial, safety, and industrial products.
Earlier, as a Partner at McKinsey & Company in Chicago, Cody led the global operations effectiveness practice and co-founded the Service Operations Practice, driving significant improvements in complex service and logistics environments. He also served on McKinsey’s global Partner Election Committee.
Cody has held board roles at Essendant, Con-way Freight, and R.R. Donnelley, contributing strategic insight and governance expertise.
He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University and an M.B.A. from The University of Chicago.
In his free time, Cody enjoys scuba diving, physical fitness, and spending time with his family. He is a passionate fan of Ohio State football.
