With over 20 years of experience in developing safety management systems and an additional decade in field operations, George Bunker is a seasoned expert in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Management Systems. He combines effective management strategies with practical, field-ready solutions to create world-class safety programs that enhance productivity while maintaining rigorous safety standards.

George’s extensive career spans global operations, including the Eastern Mediterranean, Africa, China, Spain, and Namibia. He is widely recognized for his expertise in Safety Management System development, behavior-based safety (BBS), safety assessments, and audits. Additionally, George has served as an HSE expert witness in workplace injury cases, showcasing his deep knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.

As Vice President of Risk and HSEQ at Integrated Water Services, George has been instrumental in developing and managing the company’s comprehensive Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management Systems. His efforts include creating an innovative, interactive online safety management system, demonstrating his commitment to progressive safety solutions.

Previously, as HSE Director and Managing Member at Validus Energy, George established fully automated safety management systems and oversaw enterprise-wide HSE programs. His leadership also extended to Recon Africa in Namibia, where he developed key government safety standards and solutions.

During his tenure as HSE Director at Blackeagle Energy Services, George led the team to achieve 4 million injury-free manhours and earned the Arthur T. Everham Safety Award for three consecutive years as the safest mid-size utility construction company in the US. He was also nominated for the DCA Safety Director of the Year in 2017.

In addition to his professional achievements, George is actively involved in supporting community health initiatives where he lives and works. He believes that a fulfilled life is built on giving more than you take and leaving a positive impact with every action.
