President & CEO

Alexander J. Buehler (Alex) currently serves as President & CEO of Integrated Water Services, a PE-backed company focused on product solutions, technical and digital services, and field services for water and wastewater treatment facilities.  Beforehand, he served as the Interim CEO of LiqTech International, a publicly traded manufacturing and technology company based in Copenhagen, Denmark that specializes in advanced membranes and filters comprised of silicon carbide ceramics.  Prior to LiqTech, Alexservedas the President & CEO of the Brock Group, a leading soft craft services provider with established business across multiple end markets, including refining, chemical, power, pharmaceutical, pulp & paper, and others.  Previously, he was EVP of Global Resources for Intertek, a publiclytraded company headquartered in London that is a market leader in quality assurances services across multiple industries—namely energy, mining, power, infrastructure, aerospace, and others.

Prior to joining Intertek in September of 2017, he served as President and CEO of Energy Maintenance Services (EMS), a PE-backed company focused on integrity maintenance services for major oil & gas companies throughout North America, where he successfully steered the company through the downturn and marketed and closed the sale to First Reserve, another private equity company focused on oil & gas.From May of 2011 until July of 2014, Mr. Buehlerserved as the Chief Financial Officer of Energy Recovery Inc (NASDAQ: ERII), a publiclytraded company focused on the design and production of engineered components and systems used for energy recovery in high-pressure applications such as desalination, refrigeration, and industrial wastewater.

Prior to Energy Recovery, Mr. Buehler spent seven years in executive leadership positions at Insituform Technologies, Inc., (now Aegion Corporation), a global, leading supplier of water and energy infrastructure technology and services for municipalities and industry.  While at Insituform, Mr. Buehler held several executive-level positions in the U.S and abroad, most recently as Vice President of Europe.  Prior to joining Insituform, Mr. Buehler worked for five years in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where he served as program manager for the construction of basecamps to house U.S. peacekeepers in the Balkans and assess invasion routes into Serbia as part of the Kosovo Air Campaign.

Mr. Buehler is a highly impactful business executive with years of experience in leadership, general management, strategy, financial oversight, and operational execution.  He currently serves as anindependent board member for two companies—EnergyRecovery (NASDAQ:ERII) and LiqTech Systems (NASDAQ:LIQT)—and has previously served as a board member and Chair of the Audit Committee for Viscount Systems (OTCQB:VSYS).  He received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point and an M.B.A. in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.  Mr. Buehler lives with his wife and three children in Fulshear, TX outside of Houston.
